Comedian, writer Kevin Smith taking stage Dec. 18

Kevin Smith of Clerks and Chasing Amy performs Friday, Dec. 18 at the Community Concert Hall at Fort Lewis College.

Comedian, writer and film director Kevin Smith returns to Durango on Dec. 18 for "An Evening with Kevin Smith" at the Community Concert Hall at Fort Lewis College. The irreverent Smith is touring with his "Can't shut the $@$% up!" stage show. The show is recommended as Adults Only.

Smith was first introduced to a live Durango audience in January 2013 with "Jay and Silent Bob Get Old," performed with Jason Mewes, at the Community Concert Hall. This year, "An Evening with Kevin Smith" is a chance to get up close and personal with the man who created the off-beat and philosophical drug dealing characters of Jay and Silent Bob in the classic indie comedy Clerks. The duo was reprised in additional films directed by Smith: Mallrats, Chasing Amy, Dogma, Jay & Silent Bob Strike Back and Clerks 2.

Smith and Mewes went on to develop the "Jay and Silent Bob Get Old" stage show, originally launched by Smith as a podcast recorded live in front of an audience. The podcasts proved widely popular and the Jay and Silent Bob tour followed.

Smith is also the creator of AMC's "Comic Book Men" and is author of Silent Bob Speaks, Shootin' the Sh*t with Kevin Smith, My Boring-Ass Life and most recently, Tough Sh*t: Life Advice from a Fat, Lazy Slob Who Did Good. Smith's multi-day tour in Denver in advance of his visit to Durango is already sold-out.
