San Juan College will participate in a virtual event to help students complete their Free Application for Federal Student Aid from 3 to 6 p.m. Wednesday.
At the virtual event, new students, current students and anyone considering college will be able to fill out their FAFSA with the assistance of the San Juan College Financial Aid Department staff and employees from New Mexico Educational Assistance Foundation.
There will be three ways to get help with completing the FAFSA: connect with counselors and Financial Aid Office staff via Zoom at bit.ly/July2020FAFSA, live chat support from NMEAF at bit.ly/FAFSAChatHelp or call 1 (800) 379-4038 for assistance over the phone.
FAFSA determines a student’s eligibility for federal financial aid, which can be awarded in grants, scholarships, work-study and educational loans. Grants, scholarships and work-study awards are considered investment dollars toward a student’s education and do not have to be paid back unless a student withdraws or fails courses.
The event is hosted by College Connect New Mexico.
