Based on Turning the Wheel of Truth by Ajahn Succito, the class will explore the Buddha’s first discourse on the Four Noble Truths. The class is appropriate for people familiar with these foundational teachings who also have had some retreat experience.
Succito’s unique commentary provides a rich, accessible translation that cultivates the eight-fold path of liberation in everyday living. Through discussion, exercises and homework, students may deepen their experiential understanding of this essential teaching.
The class will be taught by dharma leaders Katherine Barr and Maureen Fallon-Cyr. Barr has been practicing meditation since 1995 and has been a hospice volunteer since 1997. Fallon-Cyr has been engaged with mindfulness meditation since 1994 and also works as a mindfulness-based psychotherapist.
