Letters: It’s what I needed to hear at BLM rally

Thank you, anti-BLM protesters, for focusing my attention on the Friday BLM rally in Buckley Park. You are the reason I attended to support the BLM rally.

I heard things I needed to hear and learned things I needed to learn. The three young women who led the rally were thoughtful in their message, welcoming of the hundreds of white faces sitting before them and soft-spoken in their delivery – a classic example of how you don’t need to carry a big stick (e.g., loud noise and guns) to deliver a powerful message that will be remembered.

Thank you, BLM rally organizers; and thank you, Durango Police, for your neutral, reassuring presence.
