Durango wildlife museum, fish raceways remain closed

The wildlife museum on the grounds of the Durango hatchery will not open to the public this summer because of the coronavirus pandemic.

During the summer, the museum draws about 16,000 visitors annually from every state and numerous foreign countries. The museum is in a small space, and opening it would expose visitors to unnecessary risks.

The raceways, where fish are raised and can be fed by the public, are also closed to the public until further notice.

While the Durango facilities are closed to the public, Colorado’s state parks are open for day use and camping. Fishing and hunting licenses may be purchased online at www.cpwshop.com.
