The Durango High School girls swimming team had two relay teams swim state-qualifying times at the Southwest Conference Girls Relay Meet on Saturday in Grand Junction.
As a team, DHS was fourth with 390 points at the all-relay event. Montrose took the title with 478, followed by Grand Junction at 460 and Fruita Monument at 393. A total of 13 teams competed.
The 200-yard medley relay team of Brooke Kniffin, Elli Earl, Bryn Joyner and Anne Mummery finished second in 2 minutes, 1.06 seconds to come in under the state-qualifying time of 2:05.00.
Joyner, Earl, Hailee Pritchard and Kniffin added another state time for Durango in the 400 free relay, finishing in 4:02.26, comfortably ahead of the qualifying time of 4:06.00.
The Demons picked up a couple of victories in the less conventional relay events, with Kniffin, Madison Hoven, Mummery and Earl winning the 200 back/breaststroke relay in 2:10.09. Joyner, Catherine Dellinger, Mummery and Pritchard won the 200 butterfly/free relay in 1:58.83.
Dellinger, Katie Pannell, Claire Larson and Joyner were second in the 200 free relay in 1:56.78. Shayla Wood, Ellie Gervais, Braden Higby and Claire James were third in the 100 free relay in 1:00.79. Mummery, Kniffin, Pannell and Earl were fourth in the 500 crescendo free relay in 5:30.99. Jennifer Schadt, Dellinger, Hoven and Larson were fourth in the 200 fly relay in 2:26.72.
