The La Plata County Commissioners recently signed a resolution to participate in the C-PACE program to encourage energy efficiency projects.
C-PACE, (commercial property assessed clean energy), is a program designed to help commercial building owners install energy efficiency, renewable energy and water efficiency measures with affordable, long-term financing.
The program benefits building owners by generating an immediate positive cash flow with no up-front, out-of-pocket expense. C-PACE enables a complete upgrade of the building with eligible energy efficiency and renewable energy measures. At no cost to contractors, C-PACE experts will help identify eligible properties, prepare proposals, and develop, optimize, and present projects incorporating C-PACE financing. C-PACE also sources capital providers for ‘best-fit’ financing.
La Plata County joins 30 other counties participating with C-PACE, including Montezuma County. Region 9 Economic Development District participates as a capital provider.
