San Juan Basin Public Health announces flu clinics in Archuleta and La Plata counties

San Juan Basin Public Health will host several flu clinics in October in Archuleta and La Plata counties.

SJBPH is urging anyone older than 6 months to get a flu shot. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the addition of another respiratory illness on top of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic could overburden the health care system, strain testing capacity and increase the risk of catching both diseases at once.

The cost of flu shots is free to uninsured or under-insured people or covered by insurance. No appointment is necessary.

Upcoming flu clinics will be held:

9-11 a.m. Tuesday: Manna Soup Kitchen, 1100 Avenida del Sol.1-4 p.m. Wednesday: Durango Public Library overflow parking lot, 1900 East Third Ave.1-4 p.m. Oct. 26: SJBPH Pagosa Springs Office, 502 Eighth St., Pagosa Springs.1-4 p.m. Oct. 28: Durango Public Library overflow parking lot, 1900 East Third Ave.SJBPH will provide additional flu clinic dates and locations for populations particularly vulnerable to the flu.
