Mini Merc, a Bayfield mainstay for gasoline, pizza and tacos, had a small electrical fire on Thursday, Jan. 6.
The fire was extinguished quickly before any damage occurred, said owner Michelle Nelson Yost. The store was closed Monday and Tuesday as a new floor was installed in the business. That work was scheduled before the fire. The business opened on Wednesday.
Yost thanked Dion Phelps, who spotted the fire, and the Upper Pine and Los Pinos fire departments, who responded to last week's incident.
