A free guided hike, called “Weathering Winter: Ancestral Pueblo Strategies for Winter,” will be offered at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 21, at Mesa Verde National Park.
Attendance is limited to 20 people.
Participants will meet at Chapin Mesa Archaeological Museum, about a 45-minute drive from the park entrance, and should bring extra layers of clothing and enough water to spend two to three hours outdoors.
The hike, guided by park rangers, will be less than one mile and focused on winter survival strategies used by ancestral Puebloans at Mesa Verde.
Children must be at least 7 years old to join.
To sign up or for more information, call the Chapin Mesa Archaeological Museum at 529-4631.
