Come to the Durango Arts Center and see Mother Nature personified. Mary Ellen Long is a refreshing blessing to our art community. She marries nature and a presence of humanity to create pure art. Her art awakens our human consciousness to the beauty that surrounds us every day. Nature abounds with gifts, like jewels, which we pass by on our way to work. Mother Nature, Mary Ellen, has, like the great American poet Robert Frost, stopped on a snowy night to take a moment and appreciate the surroundings. Her labor is an inspiration to our senses. Don’t miss her show at the Durango Arts Center (upstairs in the library, through Sept. 1). People will come and go talking about Mary Ellen Long.
