San Juan National Forest seeks public comments

The San Juan National Forest is seeking public comments through Dec. 18 about a draft environmental assessment of a proposal for prescribed burns in zones of ponderosa pine trees, mixed warm-dry conifers and shrub-dominated areas, which cover substantial areas of lower and middle elevations of the Pagosa District.

The proposal, if approved, will continue and expand the area of prescribed burns in the Pagosa District. Burns are conducted when weather and fuel conditions result in low or moderate surface fires.

To view the proposal, visit http://bit.ly/2A4keQR.
