Center of Southwest Studies to host ‘Silverton Gold’ film screening

Center of Southwest Studies at Fort Lewis College will host a free film screening of “Silverton Gold” at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday via Zoom.

“Silverton Gold” explores the transition from mining town to tourism/recreation based economy and the tension between development and preservation, while telling the story of the fortitude, toughness and perseverance of the people of Silverton.

Sean Owen is an independent filmmaker based in Durango. His most recent film “Tribal Radio” won Best Native American Documentary at the Santa Fe Film Festival in 2018. For more information, visit www.seanwilderowen.com.
