Recently, a neighbor’s home in Rafter J burned to the ground. In spite of the divisive climate enveloping our entire nation these days, something very wonderful has occurred. People all around our neighborhood have joined together to help the Mintons in their devastating loss.
I am so happy and so proud of everyone for stepping forward with donations of all sorts, including money, clothing, pet supplies, etc. I want to acknowledge the kindness of some in particular.
First, I want to say a grateful thank you to the firefighters who fought the blaze and prevented its spread to the rest of the area. It could have been so much worse had the wind been an issue. I want to say thank you to Nicole McLemore for her efforts in reaching out to local businesses to donate. Thank you, City Market, Bed Bath and Beyond, Nature’s Oasis, Sears and Rose Duds for all your generosity and kindness.
All the family is safe, including their two dogs, and a cat. We are so grateful for that! Thank you to all the people in Rafter J and beyond who have shown all the kindness in their hearts to this family. You all know who you are. Then finally, shame on the vet who charged such an exorbitant amount to treat the kitty, after the loss of all their belongings ... and you know who you are as well.
