The Life-Long Learning Lecture Series at Fort Lewis College will present “The Adverse Health Effects of Electronic Cigarettes in Adults and Teens” at 7 p.m. Thursday in Room 130 of Noble Hall.
David Blake, associate professor of biology at FLC, will examine why vaping may pose serious and avoidable health risks to everyone – young or old. Blake will look at physiological effects in the lung of vaping chemicals and explore current known health implications. For example: In young people, exposure to nicotine can lead to addiction and cause long-term harm to brain development.
Cosponsored by the Office of the President and the Professional Associates of Fort Lewis College, the Life-Long Learning Lecture Series aims to enrich the intellectual life of the college and the community by offering free presentations about a wide variety of subjects.
The Thursday evening programs are free and open to all.
