Community Concerts in the Secret Garden will resume in August at the Rochester Hotel. The concerts benefit local nonprofits and feature live local music in an outdoor venue that follows all local health and safety guidelines.
The application for nonprofit beneficiaries is now open through the Community Foundation Serving Southwest Colorado. This year’s grantees will be selected from La Plata County nonprofits with an animal protection mission. The deadline to apply is May 28.
Four nonprofits will be selected to host the concerts, which will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesdays Aug. 4 to 25. The cover charge is a $10 donation. At the end of the series, all proceeds will be pooled and distributed equally to the grantee organizations.
The nonprofit application is available online at www.swcommunityfoundation.org. To be eligible to apply, organizations must be a nonprofit, tax-exempt 501(c)(3) organization, or be a project or organization under the fiscal agency of a 501(c)(3) organization. Organizations must serve La Plata County’s animal protection sector. Nonprofits and bands will be announced in June.
In addition to the Rochester Hotel, the Community Concerts are sponsored by Four Corners Community Bank and Tito’s Handmade Vodka.
