Skyhawks’ Johnson picked as RMAC Pitcher of the Week

FLC starting pitcher earns weekly conference award

Kiley Raica has some company.

Victoria Johnson joined her as the second Fort Lewis College softball pitcher to be named the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Pitcher of the Week.

Johnson went 1-1 in three appearances against Regis and didn’t allow an earned run to earn this week’s honors.

Johnson pitched a complete game in the Skyhawks’ 10-1 win in six innings Sunday in Denver, the Skyhawks’ lone win on the weekend. She allowed six hits and struck out two in the win. She walked no one.

Johnson, a sophomore, is 2-3 with a 2.44 earned run average so far this season in 28 2/3 innings.

FLC (5-9, 1-3 RMAC) will play its first home game of the season at 10 a.m. Saturday against Adams State. FLC will host Western New Mexico at 2 p.m. Saturday, then Adams State again at 2 p.m. Sunday at Aspen Field.
