Edible plant walk offered Aug. 22 in La Plata Canyon

San Juan Mountains Association and San Juan National Forest will sponsor an edible plants field seminar and walk at 5:30 p.m. Aug. 22 west of Durango in La Plata Canyon.

Katrina Blair, co-founder of Turtle Lake Refuge and edible plant expert, will teach participants how to find and prepare edible wild plants in the area, such as thistles, chokecherries and dandelions. Cost is a $10 suggested donation.
