Registration is open for the 11th Annual Durango Parks and Recreation Triathlon.
The event will kick off at 8 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 2. Participants can register at the Durango Community recreation Center or online at www.active.com, according to a news release issued by the city of Durango. The cost is $45 for individuals and $90 for a team. Registration day of will not be accepted.
If you are inexperienced, fear not. The course is designed for beginners as well as seasoned veterans, according to the release.
The race will begin and end at the Durango Community Recreation Center and will include a 500-yard swim in the lap pool, a 13-mile bike ride and a 5K run.
After the event, a barbecue is scheduled at the rec center amphitheater for participants and their family. Awards and a raffle is also on the list of festivities.
