12th annual Gardens on Tour to be held

The 12th annual Gardens on Tour will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. June 21. The 2025 Tour is produced by the all-volunteer, nonprofit Durango Botanic Gardens.

The self-guided tour starts at the Durango Library, 1900 East Third Ave., where attendees receive a wristband and guidebook with directions to each garden. Volunteers and Docents of the Durango Botanic Gardens will be at all the gardens to answer questions.

This year, guests will have the opportunity to see some of the challenges presented by gardening in the Four Corners. A few of those challenges include the current drought, fire mitigation and local critters. Seven of the Tour gardens are residential. he Durango Botanic Gardens and the gardens at the Durango Hot Springs Resort and Spa round out the gardens on the Tour.

By participating in the event, guests support the public gardens at the Durango Public Library maintained by the Durango Botanic Gardens’ volunteers. Durango Botanic Gardens’ mission is to demonstrate best gardening practices and water conservation strategies.
