Presley Montgomery was happy to pose with older brother Payton's pig, Buck. She isn't old enough to compete in large livestock events. It was Payton's first year showing, and his other pig, Lily, won Reserve Grand Champion, according to dad Shilo. Payton is a member of the Ignacio Westerneers. Fair action wrapped up Sunday at the La Plata County Fairgrounds.
Cathy Duggan's machine quilted entry won first place and champion ribbons in advanced quilts at the county fair.

Erin Hansen won first place and a Designer's Choice Award for her fairy garden in the horticultural section of the county fair.
This large wedding ring pattern quilt was entered by Marilyn Ellis. It won first place and champion ribbons. The designer was Judy Niemeyer, and the quilter was Kim Radabaugh.
Clay Campbell's calf won first place in his 4-H/ FFA market beef group and qualified for the championship round. Clay is a member of the Ignacio Westerneers.
