Because of the 416 Fire north of Durango, Merely Players’ production of “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” has been moved from James Ranch to the Fort Lewis College Mainstage Theatre.
“While we are disappointed at having to move our venue, we are grateful to the Fort Lewis College Theater for making our transition possible,” director and Merely Players co-founder Mona Wood-Patterson said in a news release. “We still have a quality show that we are proud of and eager to present to you.”
The show will run at 7 p.m. June 22, 23, 24, 26, 27, 28, 29 and 30.
As a show of gratitude for firefighters working the 416 Fire, firefighters are invited to show up at the door on any show night and be seated free of charge. Merely Players is also offering half-price tickets to evacuees, who may purchase their tickets at the ticket vendor or at the door as available. People are asked to bring their paperwork when they collect their ticket.
Because of the change of venue, those who previously purchased a meal package at James Ranch may go to James Ranch at any time it is open to enjoy their meal, Wood-Patterson said. Merely Players will still host a Meet the Actors soirée after the show on June 23. The price of $20 includes dessert, a glass of wine or other beverage, and a chance to visit with our actors.

Please note that the Mainstage Theatre is in the Theatre Building on the FLC campus. It is not the Community Concert Hall.
