Consider relocating temporarily if smoke is present indoors and is making you ill. If visibility is less than 5 miles in smoke in your neighborhood, smoke has reached levels that are unhealthy.Outlook: Areas of moderate to heavy smoke from the 416 Fire located 10 miles to the north of Durango will move toward the south during the early morning hours on Saturday, shifting to move in an east to northeast direction throughout the day and through Saturday evening. This will mainly impact rural parts of northeastern La Plata and southern San Juan counties. Winds are expected to turn calm overnight Saturday night. As the winds calm, smoke could drain southward along the Animas River and produce moderate to heavy smoke overnight through Sunday morning in more populated areas such as Hermosa and Durango.
