Fire crews continue to work on the Lightner Creek Fire this morning. Here is some information for you to start your day. Check back often at
1. The fire is now being tracked and information posted on the Bureau of Land Management’s Incident Information System (aka InciWeb). There you can find the location of the fire, its perimeter, containment and other tidbits. Access that website here.
2. Mail delivery has been halted in some areas because of the fire. If you live in Rafter J, Junction Creek, Crestview, Rockridge subdivisions, or along county roads 206, 207 and 208, your USPS mail is being held at the post office at 222 W. Eighth St. You can pick it up there.
3. If you want to see where fire restrictions are in place in Colorado, here is a cool map. Click on an area to see the restrictions.
4. Getting information about emergencies in the community and breaking news is easy if you sign up to have it come right to your smartphone. To sign up for CodeRED alerts, you can do it here. These alerts will inform you of any emergencies, including evacuation notices, bio-terrorism alerts, boil water notices and missing child reports.
