The Color Dash national fundraising organization is partnering with the Powerhouse Science Center to bring a 5K race to Durango.

The organization contributes 50 percent of registration fees to the host.

Runners will kick off at 10:30 a.m. July 27 in the Three Springs community in Grand View. Entry fees are $40 for individuals, $35 per runner for teams of four to 16 and $85 for a family of three.

The course remains in the Three Springs neighborhood, starting on Mercado Street. At each kilometer, a station will spray runners with a non-toxic food-grade dyed cornstarch.

The Powerhouse Science Center, 1333 Camino del Rio, will host a post-race party for participants and community. There will be music and games, food and drink, courtesy of Powerhouse Science Center.

Color Dash operates nationally. In Colorado, the organization has sponsored runs in Grand Junction, Pueblo and Colorado Springs.
