A candidate’s character counts!

In a few weeks, our country will have a different president and vice president Most of us have a clear idea of how we will fill out our ballots. Our opportunity to cast a vote for a candidate or issue is too important to take lightly or to waste. We have the responsibility to inform ourselves and to act on our decision. To vote is our American right.

We base our decisions on facts and opinions. In case some have forgotten, allow me to refresh those memories. The fact is, there is a candidate who is a convicted felon, who is twice impeached, who is a misogynist and adulterer, a con and a tax cheat, denier of climate change and the 2020 election outcome. He spews lies and stokes fear and hate. He has publicly mocked the disabled and denigrated our servicemen and women. He supports severely restricting and outlawing necessary health care options for women and girls. Here’s the biggie: He incited a violent insurrection that threatened to topple our American democracy. These are facts, look ‘em up.

Call me old fashioned, but I believe in the value of qualities of integrity, honesty, kindness and respect. Those qualities are essential for someone wishing to hold the highest American public office, and the fact is, this particular candidate does not possess them. Convicted felon Insurrectionist? No thank you. My opinion? This candidate does not deserve my vote. I’ll cast mine for Kamala Harris.
