March 2 is the birthday of beloved children's author Dr. Seuss, and it was Read Across America day to celebrate the benefits to children of having adults read to them. The Ignacio Community Library marked the day with various activities. Shown here, Lurie Owen reads Seuss's Bartholomew and the Oobleck to Leena and baby Abbey Reinhardt, daughters of Daven and Alicia Reinhardt. With them is their aunt, Bridget Roderick. The little girls also played with the library's 'busy box' while absorbing the rhythms and drawings of Seuss.
