I've lost count of how many times right-wing talking heads have used the phrase “short-term pain, long-term gain” to justify the recent record-setting increases in oil prices due to Dear Leader's actions in Iran.
For all those who continue to support the gross incompetence of this administration, I suggest they pay a $1 per gallon surcharge beyond the pump price to support a fund offsetting the price increase for those who did not vote for this. Certainly Dear Leader's supporters will have no problem with this – I'm sure they will all be willing to “take one for the team” and bear the brunt of a disruption that is the direct result of their voting actions in late 2024.
While this won't address the ripple effect of oil prices on the larger economy, it will ease the direct discomfort at the pump for those who do not support illegal U.S.-sponsored regime change. Dear Leader's supporters can certainly endure a little additional “short-term pain,” knowing the “long-term gain” that is sure to follow.
