A ‘no’ vote on Prop. HH ‘a huge win’

Most Colorado residents are already outraged at having to pay high property taxes. To placate the public, liberals in Denver have come up with an unconstitutional ballot initiative deceptively titled, “Reduce Property Taxes” or Proposition HH.

Incredibly, this phony measure only slows the increase. It’s the latest sneaky attempt to steal $10 billion in Taxpayer’s Bill of Rights refunds, enabling the Legislature to confiscate more of your money. As a result, taxpayers will see increases as high as 20% to 30%. This would be the largest tax hike in Colorado history.

The Colorado Constitution does not allow for bills to deal with more than one subject. This ballot initiative violates that by pairing property taxes and TABOR refunds.

Some solutions: The governor should call a special legislative session to cap high property tax rates. Then, the Legislature needs to slash spending. Yes, slash. Coloradans have been forced to tighten their belts; but it’s a totally foreign concept for the liberals in Denver.

A “no” vote on Prop. HH will have several benefits: Taxpayers will continue to see some relief through those wonderful TABOR refunds, liberals will be forced to come up with alternative solutions to the property tax crisis and our taxes will not be increased by our own votes.

People, get educated. Find out what Prop. HH really means for you and your family. Don’t blindly trust politicians and nice-sounding titles on your ballot. A “no” vote on Prop. HH will be a huge win for decent, hard-working Coloradans.
