A solution for poor intersection lighting

In an apparent interest in seeing stars versus pedestrians crossing downtown Durango streets, there is a dearth of lighting at intersections.

City Council would do well to provide reflective vests for pedestrians’ use after dark. The vests could be modeled on “free bike” programs found in other forward-looking communities and shared as needed. Parking meters could include a charge for such, if free became problematic. Otherwise, intersections will undoubtedly find a need for Mr. Wolf in the anticipated aftermath.
