I have been in the real estate business for over 50 years, and I had a great experience with Ben in 1992.
At the time, I was working with a friend of mine – a veteran – who was trying to purchase a HUD foreclosure home. While studying for my broker’s license, I was taught that a veteran purchasing a HUD foreclosure is one of the most difficult transactions to bring to the closing table. My experience proved that to be true.
My client had preliminary loan approval for a VA loan and made an offer on the home that was approved by HUD. That is when the nightmare began. HUD created numerous problems that dragged on for months, to the point that the lender was considering withdrawing its commitment.
I contacted Ben, and he took it upon himself to resolve the situation. Within about two weeks, the title company received all the documents required to close. Thanks to Ben, my client has lived in the same house ever since and raised his family there.
I am convinced that without Ben’s help, this transaction would never have made it to the closing table, and my client would not have been able to purchase a home at that time. This is a true testament to Ben’s integrity and the effort he put into helping a fellow veteran.
May he rest in peace, and God bless him and his family.
