AAUW to host annual book and author event

The American Association of University Women will host its annual book and author event at 11 a.m. March 16 at Fort Lewis College, Vallecito Room. Doors will open at 11 a.m. for lunch with the program, and at 12:15 p.m. for the program only. AAUW acknowledges Women’s History Month this year by celebrating “Visionary women, champions of peace and non-violence.”

Guest speakers at this year’s event includes Kathy Fine-Care, professor emeritus of anthropology and gender and women’s studies, and Dexter Cirillo. Fine-Care will discuss her very recent work, “The Andean World,” and Cirillo will discuss her work, “From Peace Corps to Publishing - The Serendipity of Writing.”

Two ticket options are available: a catered salad buffet with the program for $45 per person ($20 tax deductible), $20 for students, or the program only for $20 per person, $5 for students.
