There wasn’t much Alli Davis didn’t accomplish during her freshman track and field season at Durango High School.
Now you can add a Colorado High School Activities Association Class 4A All-State selection to her two silver medals in the high jump and long jump at the state track and field meet and five school records.
Her selection marks the second consecutive year a DHS athlete made the all-state team after Joe Maloney was on last year’s list.
“It’s kind of like icing on the cake,” DHS head coach David McMillan said. “She did everything we asked her to do all season long, and she stepped up in some really important meets.”
The team was voted on by Colorado’s track coaches and considered the entire season and not just performances at the state meet. She was the only freshman on the 16-member squad.
“It’s kind of like Pavlov’s dog; we’re salivating already,” McMillan said of Davis’ future. “We’re excited to see her develop.”
