Preator, a 1,384-pound Dakota Gold steer raised by Addison Zellitti, 9, was awarded the title of grand champion market beef Saturday at the 2015 La Plata County Fair. Addison, who weighs 70 pounds, is the daughter of Chad and Amanda Zellitti and is a member of Weaselskinners 4-H Club.

The La Plata County Fair will take place at the La Plata County Fairgrounds, 2500 Main Ave. For more information, visit http://co.laplata.co.us/departments_officials/general_services/fairgrounds/county_fair. The carnival will be open through Sunday. A beer garden also will be open from Thursday to Sunday.
