“Under Pressure: The Art of the Hand-Pulled Print,” an exhibit on the process of printmaking, will open at the Durango Arts Center, 802 East Second Ave.
The new printmaking exhibit curated by Maureen May will feature 26 printmakers and help viewers understand the process of making the fine art print. The opening reception will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. April 22 in the Barbara Conrad Gallery.
Durango Quilt Co., 21516 U.S. Highway 160, will be holding a meet-and-greet for quilter and teacher Jacqueline de Jonge at 3 p.m. Sunday at the shop.
De Jonge, from the Netherlands, is an award-winning quilt designer and teacher. She will be holding three two-day classes on “How to make a beautiful quilt” Monday through April 23 in Durango.

The Fort Lewis College Concert Band and Jazz Ensemble concert will take place at 7 p.m. Friday in the Community Concert Hall.
The concert band will perform “Mars, the Bringer of War” from Holst’s Planets, a variation on a Korean folk song and “Amazing Grace.”
Tickets are $5 for adults, $1 for kids, and FLC students will get a free ticket with ID.
The Beethoven Festival will take place at 3 p.m. Sunday in the Roshong Recital Hall at Fort Lewis College.
The festival will feature the performances of the music of Beethoven by FLC students and faculty.
Music of the People: Fort Lewis College Choirs concert will take place at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Community Concert Hall at FLC.
The choirs will celebrate the end of the academic year with a concert themed “Music of the People.” The choirs will explore various avenues of folk music, focusing especially on Americana. Concert Choir will perform Stephen Foster’s “Beautiful Dreamer,” an interpretation of “Oh My Darling, Clementine,” and some gospel and military-themed pieces.
Chamber Choir will perform a mix of music by modern American composers, as well as an arrangement of the traditional Irish tune, “She Moved Through the Fair.” Hawkappella and Men’s Choir will perform.
The recital featuring the Southwest Piano Trio, scheduled for Friday at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship, has been canceled because of the pianist’s broken wrist.
Auditions for the fall production of “Fool for Love” will take place from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, and from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. April 23 at the Durango Arts Center Theatre, 802 East Second Ave.
Four actors are needed; three age 20 to 40 and one male age 50 to 70. No experience is necessary. Audition scenes are available to pick up. Rehearsals will begin in late July and run through August. Performances will take place Aug. 27 to 29 and Sept. 7 to 11. This play is for mature audiences only.
