Aichele is a costly problem; vote Black

As we enter the final week of this election season I feel sufficiently armed with the knowledge required to cast my votes responsibly. Having read about all the problems created in the last few years by our County Treasurer I now know why there must be a change.

It is now understood that our current treasurer did not have the requisite knowledge, skills or abilities to properly manage the responsibilities of the job prior to being elected. The lack of experience has cost the county a significant amount of money and will continue to do so for the next few years because La Plata County is now considered a “high-risk auditee.”

During her campaign, Allison Aichele’s misinformation about her opponent is an attempt to divert our attention away from the problems she has created within the treasurer’s office. Without the relevant financial experience to fix the problems, disseminating misinformation about Colton Black’s credentials and experience are a last-ditch attempt to hold on to the position.

Mr. Black’s education, national- and state-related certifications and many years experience in the financial services industry make him not only qualified for the job but those facts also give all of us an opportunity to put politics aside and vote for the most qualified person to hold such an important position.

Colton Black is a certified, qualified, experienced and competent financial services professional that has agreed to serve the citizens of La Plata County if elected.
