Chris Aikin will join the Region 9 Economic Development District’s Business Loan Fund Loan Committee as a Montezuma County representative.

Aikin is an assistant vice president with Dolores State Bank and was also recognized as Region 9’s Lender of the Year in 2020. Aikin was appointed by the Region 9 Executive Committee on June 15 to replace Jon Callender, a Montezuma resident, who is retiring after almost 10 years on the committee.

The Region 9 Loan Committee is made up of two representatives from each of the five counties in Southwest Colorado, plus two at-large positions. The Loan Committee members have experience in commercial lending, law, accounting, real estate and several members are small-business owners.
