A 13‑year‑old Indigenous girl reported missing in Cortez on Feb. 25 remains missing, according to the Montezuma County Sheriff’s Office and Cortez Police Department. She was last seen walking eastbound on the 400 block of West Second Street about 4:08 p.m.
The Colorado Bureau of Investigation activated a Missing Indigenous Person Alert following her disappearance.
Dior Orange, a member of the Ute Mountain Ute Tribe, is described as five feet four inches tall, weighing 150 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes.
She was last seen wearing a black sweatshirt with the number 71 on the back, black leggings and black‑and‑white Nike shoes.
The Cortez Police Department reported Tuesday on Facebook that officers were following up on leads about Orange.
