I have to chuckle at the Alinksy-ites running La Plata County. No front-page headlines in the Herald about the airport update meetings, maybe on the second (sports) sections or advertisement section, so the uniformed Durango-ites won’t have any fears until they have to pay the freight, as they go along thinking the brown shirts have it all under control, until chrystal night occurs.
Taxes are going up, the Utes are going to build the new terminal because the casino brings in so much business. But we have no place to work or store our 15 pairs of skis. We must build a new industrial park. But oh, Barack, where are you getting the water? Not from Vallecito as the water owners are getting better offers from Los Angeles and Phoenix than condemnations can offer. La Plata County owns the land around the air field as well as on the Florida River. A couple of county commissioners and their Animas Valley partners haven’t developed their lease as commercial and high-class residential next to the “booming” gravel pit.
Get the uninformed thinking one way, then 180°, then 270°, then hit them with the 2x4 with clean hands.
