Heavy snow fell Friday morning during the UIAA Ice Climbing World Cup/North American Ice Climbing Championships at Ska Brewing Co. Elite athletes representing 14 countries competed in the lead semifinals to determine the field for Saturday night’s big finale.
Spectators braved snowy conditions to provide a great atmosphere Friday. The athletes, who are used to cold and wet weather, have already put on a great show with one day to go.
Climbers such as Katie Bono of the U.S. have one day left to compete during the first of five world cup stops on the 2017 calendar.
