So when the 2025 All-IML Boys Basketball Team was released, it was no surprise that senior shooting guard Cooper Roderick and senior point guard Lincoln Williams each earned first-team distinction. Even more recently, each received an honorable mention All-3A nod, while junior guard/forward Kingston Martinez was an honorable mention All-IML pick in the wake of the Wolverines’ 16-9 overall (8-4 IML, third place) finish.
Able to reach the state tournament’s opening Round of 32 last winter despite ranking above only BHS in the league standings, Ignacio improved upon an 8-15 record in 2023-24 by going 11-13 overall (4-8 IML, fifth) in ’24-25 and returning to the state tournament’s first round.
Key to the Bobcats’ initial ascent under new head coach Trae Seibel, junior guard Ambrose Valdez was a first-team all-league choice and also an honorable mention All-3A selection.
Senior forward Charley Pargin, meanwhile, was never expected to do anything particularly flashy but showed his own flair – especially late in the season as IHS vied for a playoff berth – both close to, and often far from the hoop, and earned honorable mention All-Intermountain.
