I understand Howard Beale’s pain about being unable to post comments on The Durango Herald website unless one is a Facebook user (Letters, Herald, Feb. 7).
Perhaps if the Herald editorial board allowed more letters in the print edition and tossed out the 30-day rule, it would balance out.
On the other hand, if one reads the Herald online comments posted by Facebook users, there should no longer be any discussions about living wages or affordable housing in Durango. After all, many of the Herald Facebook comment posters are making the point that they quit their regular jobs (or got fired) and are making $2,500 a week at home with their computers.
Since it’s on the Internet, it must be true.
