Amendment 69 presentations offered

Colorado state Senator Dr. Irene Aguilar, right, who is a physician at Denver Health, helps deliver to the secretary of state’s office in Denver more than 156,000 signatures to put a single-payer health care question on the 2016 ballot. Several events put on by supporters of the ballot initiative are planned in Durango in October.

Information about Amendment 69, also known as ColoradoCare, will be presented on the following dates:

Former small-business owner, Guinn Unger, will present “ColoradoCare: Understanding Amendment 69” at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at the Durango Public Library , 1900 East Third Ave. The evening will include a time for questions. This event is free and open to the public.

The Community Health Action Committee of Durango will present “ColoradoCare: Understanding Amendment 69” at 8 a.m. Friday at the Durango Community Recreation Center, 2700 Main Ave. Former small-business owner, Guinn Unger, will explain Amendment 69 and field questions from the audience. A continental breakfast will be served. This event is free and open to the public.

The documentary “Now Is The Time: Healthcare For Everybody” will be screened at 6:30 p.m. Oct. 18 at the Durango Public Library. This documentary delves into what single-payer health care is and supporters claim it saves money. The evening will include a time for questions. This event is free and open to the public.
