An elegant solution to several problems

Our fair city is currently facing a number of challenges, including an additional $100 million cost to finish the “Bridge to Nowhere” and the fact that homeless persons exist and apparently require a place to sleep.

I would like to propose a simple solution that would be beneficial both financially and morally, and would easily resolve both issues. Rather than simply razing the homeless camps west of town, we could create a labor camp and allow the homeless to build the remainder of the connection to U.S. 550 while paying their debt to society.

Let’s make explicit the implicit assumption that poverty is a moral failing, and clean those dirty squatter camps once and for all.
