Rep. Hurd, you may have noticed that on Sat., Oct. 18 there were a large number of Americans marching to protest against the policies and practices of the current administration, including over 3,000 people in Durango. I called your office to invite you or a representative to come by, but no luck.
I am writing because this administration’s response to these protests was to publish a cartoonlike video of the President of the United States flinging horse excrement out of an airplane on to the American people.
Is that your response as well? Is this sort of thing OK with you? Did you run for this high office to metaphorically fling manure on folks who disagree with you?
I truly hope you are better than that, and I encourage you to do more than just keep silent. If you are too frightened to speak out against this nonsense at least get back to Washington and get to work negotiating the reopening of the government and keeping health care affordable for all your constituents.
