I have submitted comments four times through your official website. Each time selecting, “Yes, please contact me.” I have received no correspondence from your office besides newsletters.
My husband wrote once and received a prompt response.
I am copying this to my local newspaper, and posting to your Facebook account – #unhurd. Others with similar experience, please do so as well.
To reiterate my concerns: You were narrowly elected – it would behoove you to not vote party line. We are being directly and indirectly affected by DOGE – not a congressionally approved department – cuts. You indicate you plan to “work behind the scenes” to reinstate probationary federal employees. Why do you not speak out openly? Your constituents would support it.
I attended the tele-town hall as you/your local staff have yet to show up in person. Are you afraid to hear from residents who want to let you know how we feel? A town hall will have theatrics that you and participants will have to deal with – just as we all deal with campaign season – it is your job to hear the voices through the din.
My current concerns – because you have not stood up against these cuts and reductions of service for your constituents, please vote against any continued or new tax cuts to the wealthy. They do not feel the impact of rolled back government services, they are disproportionately less affected by tariffs, and trickle-down economics has failed to serve the lower and middle classes.
Think hard about how to represent us.
