75 years ago: “Several Durango skiers are planning to attend the national ski meet at Aspen, March 7, 8, 9.”
50 years ago: “Geologists believe the earthquake which shook Dulce, N.M., and other spots south of Pagosa Springs – and was felt in widespread areas including Durango – probably was from and extension of the northern tip of the Nacimiento fault zone, Dennis Irwin, geologist for Tenneco Oil Co., said this morning.”
25 years ago: “Report of car stuck in a snowbank at 12:23 a.m. on 2200 block of Forest Avenue. Child was left in the car unattended. Mother, 20, cited for drunken driving and taken to detox. The child was turned over to her grandmother.”
