100 years ago: “Major McDevitt went over to Ignacio on political business, going on east to look after the color of the political horizon in that section.”

75 years ago: “Graveling has begun on the newly constructed road between Electra Lake gate and Cascade flume. It is expected that the entire job will be completed within the next 10 days.”

50 years ago: “The proposed one million dollar library for Fort Lewis College moved a big step forward. The Colorado commission on higher education announced it is receiving applications for the federal matching funds available to the state and will probably act on the applications at its next meeting. Gov. John Love has urged that the commission make available $333,000 of the $2.6 million federal funds to match the $667,000 that the legislature voted last winter for the Fort Lewis library.”

25 years ago: “A misunderstanding between two departments at Fort Lewis College will result in the fall student directory being reprinted at a cost of $2,428. The original version contained information about six students who did not want to be listed in the publication.”
