75 years ago: Highway improvement projects on the road from Durango to Cortez were scheduled to include 28 miles of construction work.

50 years ago: John McClure of Cortez reported to police that someone had stolen 21 books of “S&H green stamps.” He noted that he left his house unlocked during the time the items were stolen.

25 years ago: City Market employees reported two men who paid for four bags of fertilizer and then filled their trunk and back seat with more than four bags of fertilizer, and left.
