75 years ago: Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Rae left Durango for Phoenix “on Frontier” for a short business and pleasure trip in Arizona. Mr. Rae was employed as an agent for Frontier at the city-county airport office.

50 years ago: An investigation resulted in a joy-riding conviction of three youths in La Plata County Court, according to a report by the District Attorney’s Office. The incident involved a 1966 pickup that was stolen from a Hesperus resident’s property and found shortly afterward several miles south “on the road to New Mexico.”

25 years ago: A one-car rollover crash occurred on Highway 172 about nine miles outside the Durango city limits. The crash inflicted minor injuries on the driver and front-seat passenger. A 2-year-old girl, who was sitting in a child-restraint seat, escaped the crash unscathed.
